Oscar is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants and holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM). He is currently part of JA Del Río, where he advises public and private companies on financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and risk management.
With more than 16 years of experience, Oscar has advised companies listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), as well as privately held companies. He has led projects involving the adoption and implementation of IFRS, Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF), and U.S. GAAP, as well as initiatives focused on strengthening internal control frameworks, internal audit functions, corporate reporting, and the resolution of complex technical accounting matters.
Prior to joining JA Del Río, Oscar held leadership positions in Controllership, Audit, and Internal Control functions. He also developed part of his professional career at a Big Four firm, where he participated in projects for public and private companies operating under IFRS, NIF, U.S. GAAP, and PCAOB standards.
Oscar has extensive experience across a broad range of industries, including consumer goods, food and beverage, mining, retail, and restaurants, as well as manufacturing, automotive, maquiladora (IMMEX), technology, financial services, insurance, and Fintech sectors.
