Roberto Chagoya is a graduate in Public Accounting from the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, [in Spanish: el Instituto Politécnico Nacional], and is a Certified Public Accountant, (CPA en México), at the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants [in Spanish: el Instituto Mexicano de Contadores Públicos].
He has more than 22 years of experience in advisory service in mergers and acquisitions, auditing, financial Due Diligence, corporate finance, preparation and examination of financial statements in accordance with IFRS in Mexico, US GAAP, Mexican regulations, and tax reports. He was lead partner in Mexico and Central America in the area of mergers and acquisitions, and was in charge of more than 35 people for one of the Big 4 firms, supporting companies from different industries such as financial services, consumer products, telecommunications, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and private capital, among others, and in different countries.
Roberto has stood out in Due Diligence services with regard to merger and acquisition transactions both on the buy-side and the sell-side. In addition, he has participated in carve-out processes and forensic accounting for price adjustments in closing transactions; among other services. Moreover, he has acted as a consultant for important private equity funds and for Mexican and International companies.
Roberto is an integral part of the JA del Río team of experts and shares the firm goal of helping companies to do business in Latin America.
