Why Top Women?

Talking about gender parity and equality is one of the challenges of the 21st century. In the face of a world in constant change, one that is increasingly open on issues of inclusion, and in which today, many women worldwide are the heads of their homes, we want to talk about our Top Women project.

This initiative arises from the female leadership that has increased in the firm, with 50% of our workforce being women. With two partners in the organization, such as Alhelí Rodríguez in Guadalajara and Montserrat Colín in Mexico City, they have become an inspiration for all of us who are part of JA Del Río.

Top Women's project seeks to raise awareness of gender equality through national and international speakers who talk about their life experiences, how they experience equality in their companies, how they combine work and personal life, and how they implement equality in their respective workplaces.

Under the leadership of Montserrat Colín, tax partner and leader of the Top Women committee, the first edition was held during 2020-2021, which was named: "Women who inspire," in which we talked with women who have left their mark on the professional environment in Mexico, thus paving the way for new generations of leaders. Our panelists were: Kelly Kroger, CEO of C&A in Latin America; Sofía Pérez Gasque, national president of the Coordinating Council of Women Entrepreneurs, Janet Vásquez, head of information at Meganoticias and Iralia Figueroa, Senior Director of Internal Audit at Walmart for Mexico and Central America.

In the second edition, we sought to give a voice to women and men who supported the movement and talked to us about their experience and the value in the business of implementing equality in the professional aspect. We opened the second edition with the panel "Gender equality: women and men, the same voice," with world-class panelists such as Samantha Louis, CEO of Praxity Alliance, and Kellie Becker, Partner at Plante Moran.

In March, we closed the month with the panel in Spanish: "Latin America, a region that opens doors to equitable business," continuing with that voice of union and equality, which both men and women have taken as an objective to make businesses more humane and transparent. Our panelists were Ana López Mestre - American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico, Jaqueline Engallo - Toyota Motor Manufacturing Guanajuato, and Mayra Payán Arranz - FedEx Express.

We're making inroads because we're part of this change. We're the same voice for a more equitable world.
