Automatic Import Notice for Aluminum Products

Please be advised that the National Foreign Trade Information Service (“SNICE”) portal has published the “User Manual” and “Frequently Asked Questions” related to the “Automatic Import Notice for Aluminum Products,” which was published on April 2, 2026, through the Agreement amending the Agreement whereby the Ministry of Economy issues the General Rules and Criteria on Foreign Trade Matters. The platform will be available as of April 18, 2026. Likewise, the declaration of the notice in the customs entry (pedimento) will become mandatory as of April 25, 2026.

Relevant Aspects of the Automatic Import Notice for Aluminum Products

As part of the implementation of the Automatic Import Notice for Aluminum Products (AAA) in VUCEM, the following key operational aspects should be considered by importers:

  • The AAA is issued automatically. Once the information has been entered and the application submitted using the electronic signature (e.firma), the resolution letter containing the notice number may be downloaded immediately through VUCEM.
  • Supporting documentation is not mandatory for the application process; however, the platform allows documents to be uploaded on an optional basis.
  • The product description must be entered in Spanish and include specific information such as the type of aluminum, dimensions, coating, finish, and integrated accessories.
  • The notice must be requested by tariff classification and by the specific characteristics of each product; therefore, the same notice may not be used for different goods.
  • The customs entry (pedimento) must declare the country of origin indicated in the AAA application, as well as the AL permit code, in accordance with Appendix 9 of Annex 22 of the Foreign Trade General Rules (RGCE).
  • The AL permit code complement must include the alphanumeric number established in the resolution issued by VUCEM, consisting of 14 characters.
  • The same notice may be used for several operations, provided that it remains valid and has sufficient available balance. The AAA will be valid for 4 months.
