David brings over 18 years of experience advising multinational companies operating in Mexico on financial and tax compliance matters. As Director of Finance & Accounting at JA Del Río, Monterrey, he specializes in providing comprehensive support to subsidiaries and affiliates of foreign corporations, with a particular focus on Chinese and U.S.-based companies, helping them navigate Mexico's regulatory and accounting environment with confidence and efficiency.
He has experience in the automotive, consumer goods, manufacturing, and nearshoring sectors, guiding them from initial market entry in Mexico through ongoing compliance and financial consolidation.
His career combines more than a decade of financial audit experience at a Big Four firm with six years as Head of Accounting Standards at a major Mexican multinational — a dual perspective that gives him a unique understanding of both the auditor's lens and the internal workings of large corporate groups. He has led implementations of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including first-time adoption, business combinations, leases, and revenue recognition, and has prepared reports for regulatory bodies such as the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV).
His areas of expertise include consolidated financial statement preparation, advisory on complex accounting transactions, analysis of financial and tax impacts, and conversion of financial statements to IFRS or US GAAP.
David holds a degree from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, an MBA from the European School of Management, and is a Certified Public Accountant by the Instituto Mexicano de Contadores Públicos (IMCP).
