1. Yellow Fever Prevention

On April 22, 2025, the Ministry of Labor issued Circular 0045, establishing occupational risk promotion and prevention actions for workers in the face of the health emergency caused by the yellow fever virus outbreak.

i. Education and prevention

ii. Training in symptoms and measures

iii. Use of personal protection

iv. Vector control and surveillance

v. Update the hazard identification matrix

vi. Mental health support

vii. Follow recommendations from the ARL and the Ministry of Health

viii. Vaccination

ix. Safe Environments

Failure to comply with current legal regulations will incur penalties as established.

2. Workday Reduction 2025

According to the gradual implementation of Law 2101 of 2021, the third of the four workday reductions will occur in 2025. Starting July 15, the maximum workday will be reduced by two hours, from 46 to 44 hours per week.

Please consider the following key points regarding this reduction:

i. The reduction will increase the value of regular and overtime work hours.

ii. Adjustment of employee start and end times.

3. On April 1, 2025, the Ministry of Labor issued Decree 0405 of 2025, establishing new measures against sexual harassment in the workplace.

i. Update the Internal Work Regulations:

• Include clear definitions of sexual harassment in the workplace.

• Establish confidential reporting channels.

ii. Mandatory Training:

• Annual workshops for all employees.

• Focus on identification and prevention.

iii. Workplace Coexistence Committee:

• New functions to investigate cases.

• Maximum 15-day response period.

iv. Sanctions:

• Fines of up to 1,000 minimum wages, the current legal monthly minimum wage, as its acronym in Spanish – (SMMLV), for companies that do not comply.

• Dismissals with just cause for proven harassers.
